Atlanta Stopped, 7-1, by San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Seagulls topped the Atlanta Generals, 7-1, in American Baseball League action at Atlantic Station Field. The standout performance belonged to San Francisco pitcher and San Jose, California, native Pete Ragsdale. Ragsdale, now 3-2, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. With the loss, Atlanta sinks to 13-15.
San Francisco used the hitting of John Cobb to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Seagulls on top, 3-0. For the game, Cobb had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Atlanta manager Philipe Yazzie.
