Drillers Turn Back Habitants, 4-3

The Houston Drillers picked up a win at Sam Houston Field, taking down the Montreal Habitants, 4-3. Starting pitcher Dick Knight was a big reason why. Tom McAteer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Dave Quinlan, the 26th overall pick in the 1972 draft, was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Montreal sinks to 15-12.
Houston took a 4-3 lead on Jim Johnson's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Johnson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Montreal pitcher Dave Quinlan visibly frustrated.
"I can't say enough about Dick," said Houston manager Jared Placeholder. "He stepped up when we needed him."
