The Los Angeles Blockbusters spoiled a good performance by Cincinnati center fielder Johnny Murray, bumping off Cincinnati, 8-4, at Roman Arena. Murray went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times. Reliever Gary Forgette picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Armando Estrada, who finished 4th in the ABL in saves with 22 in 1967, took the loss. Cincinnati drops to 12-15.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Tom Hester to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blockbusters on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Hester said. "We did a good job of that today."
