Lasseter Stars as Hurons Top Wranglers, 5-1
|
The Toronto Hurons stopped the Dallas Wranglers, 5-1, at Dominion Field. The Hurons got a big game from Max Lasseter, who went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Toronto starter Mike Beers was credited with the win after throwing 98 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. The Wranglers fall to 11-18 and continue their sputtering start to the 1976 season.
With Toronto leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Lasseter hit a fastball from Dario Perez for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Hurons ahead, 5-1.
Toronto manager Jim Burns commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
