Brooklyn Gets 3-2 Win
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds scooped up a win at Roman Arena, dumping the Cincinnati Packers, 3-2. Dick Conway, who is tied for 7th in the NBL with a 1.77 ERA, was essential to his team's success. The Packers, now 11-19, continue their poor start.
Bob Rawlins, who finished 3rd in the NBL in runs with 84 in 1968, had a direct impact on the outcome. Rawlins contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Brooklyn up, 3-1.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch.
