Blockbusters Win, 5-3, Versus St. Louis
|
The Los Angeles Blockbusters cut down the St. Louis Explorers by the score of 5-3, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Ernie Ronnebaum. Ronnebaum went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Blockbusters. The Explorers drop to 12-18, as their fitful start to the 1975 campaign continues.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Ken Frederick to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blockbusters on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Frederick called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
