The Montreal Habitants had to overcome a fine effort from Dallas pitcher Barry Gilmore to win, 3-2, at Bluff Park. Gilmore went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Mel Calef picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Frank Dunn, who led the ABL in saves with 26 last year, took the loss. Montreal, now 19-11, has played well in the early going.

Montreal used the hitting of Jerry Sullivan to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Habitants on top, 3-2. For the game, Sullivan had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Dallas manager William Albrecht.
