Hickey goes 3-for-4, Leads Empires to Win
The New York Empires beat the Toronto Hurons, 8-4, at Dominion Field. New York center fielder Roger Hickey had the hot bat. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. The victory makes New York 15-14.

Al Castro, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1967 draft, helped out the New York cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 2-4 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs.
