In 10, Milwaukee Sinks Los Angeles, 7-4
|
Los Angeles got a valiant performance from pitcher Dario Fontanez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Milwaukee Dairymen. Milwaukee won the game, 7-4. Fontanez threw 8.2 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The Blockbusters fall to 13-17 and continue their lackluster start to the 1970 season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jose Nova? The Milwaukee right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Dairymen on top, 6-4. For the game, Nova had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was terrific getting this win," Nova said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
