The Cleveland Bobcats locked up a win at Lakefront Stadium, knocking off the Pittsburgh Industrials, 6-2. On the mound for Cleveland was right-hander Myron Baird. He played a major role in the triumph. Baird, who is tied for 5th in the NBL in strikeouts with 33, went the distance for Cleveland. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. The loss has the Industrials at 19-11.

Benito Olivas had a big run-scoring triple for the Bobcats in the bottom of the first inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Gene Steinhauer, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1968 draft, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bobcats ahead, 2-0.

"Myron did a nice job," said Bobcats manager Daniel Mays.
