Francisco Chavez had a hand in New York defeating Cleveland by the score of 12-6. Chavez went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring 4 times and driving in 3 runs. Ollie Hundley got the win, improving to 4-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 0. New York, now 21-10, has gotten their season off to a good start.

New York grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Chavez hit a run-scoring double off Matt Broughton. His 6th double of the season put the Knickerbockers out in front, 5-4.

"This is truly a great team to play with," Chavez said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
