Habitants Score 3-2 Win Over Dallas
|
The Dallas Wranglers and Montreal Habitants provided some drama for the home crowd.
Steve Coomes, who led the ABL in wins with 20 last year, pitched well, but the Dallas Wranglers still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Montreal Habitants at Bluff Park. Manny Esparza was the winner. Over 5.1 innings, he yielded 1 run on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 1 strikeout.
Montreal used a clutch at-bat from Ed Hudson to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Habitants ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"The other side played a good game," said Dallas manager William Albrecht. "You tip your cap to them."
At 20-11, the Habitants have played well so far.
