Dallas Upended, 6-4, by Chicago
|
The 6-4 Chicago win over Dallas was due largely to Don Bozza. The Hawks catcher was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win went to Angel Villatoro in relief, making him now 1-0. Vern Gould took the loss for Dallas. The save went to Mark Evert, his 1st this season.
Buck DeFalco, who finished 5th in the ABL in triples with 11 in 1967, helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," DeFalco said.
The Wranglers drop to 14-16 and continue their inconsistent start to the 1974 season.
