Seagulls Take Down Emeralds, 1-0
|
The San Francisco Seagulls banked on Paul Wiley and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Seattle hitters in check. The final score was 1-0, Seagulls. San Francisco is off to a hot start at 20-10.
San Francisco got a game-changing hit from Don Johnson. The pinch hitter blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a winner.
"That's baseball," said Seattle manager Mark Velez. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
