New York picked up a win at Queens Field, bumping off the Boston Terriers, 6-3. Pitcher Jimmy Bell was a major reason the Empires emerged victorious. Earning his 1st save of the year was Chuck Hinck. New York goes to 1-2.

Earl Petersen had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for New York. He came through with a 2-run single to put New York in front, 4-3.

Bell said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
