Extra-Inning Win by Industrials Over Eagles
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials faced a tough opponent in Washington pitcher Ed Frederick, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Monument Field by a final score of 4-3. Frederick went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Tommy Robinson, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. At 24-6, the Industrials have played well so far.
Tim LaPointe, the 26-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. LaPointe contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 16th inning to put Pittsburgh up, 4-3.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker.
