Emeralds Take Tight Tangle
|
Toronto first baseman Max Lasseter was sensational. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Seattle beat the Hurons, 3-2. Pat Burkholder picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 3-2. Picking up the save was Bob Valentine, his 1st.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Dave Robertson came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Toronto pitcher Steve Persenaire, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle on top, 3-2.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Robertson said after the game.
With the win, Seattle climbs to 14-16.
