Boston Wins, 5-4, Over Lords
|
The Boston Terriers picked up a win at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, dropping the Baltimore Lords, 5-4. Kim Glanden, who finished 5th in the ABL in saves with 21 in 1968, was the difference-maker. Tim Jepperson picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Denny Boyd suffered the loss. Larry Alexander earned the save for Boston, his 1st of the year.
Boston took a 5-3 lead on Don Bozza's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Bozza hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Baltimore pitcher Denny Boyd visibly frustrated.
"Kim was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Boston manager Tim Hageman.
The Terriers, with just their 9th win in 29 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
