The Atlanta Generals defeated the Baltimore Lords, 7-4, in part because of catcher Ron Bullins. Bullins went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Generals. Gary Ovitt, the winner, is now 2-5. He struck out 4 and walked 1 over 6 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Jeff Jordan.

Atlanta pinch hitter Don Calise helped the Generals go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Calise hit a run-scoring single off Baltimore pitcher John Pardoe.

"We've got great fans," said Bullins. "I hope they got what they came for."

Atlanta, now 9-18, is off to a slow start.
