The St. Louis Explorers picked up a win at Blockbuster Stadium, knocking off the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 6-3. Starting pitcher Dave Church played a key role in the triumph. Church, now 3-2, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. The win puts St. Louis at 18-13.
Gary Parker hit a 2-run triple off Ralph Weintraub in the top of the fourth, which put the Explorers in front, 2-0. Parker had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"I thought we competed really well," said Explorers manager Ray Fleetwood. "I thought the energy was really good."
