Los Angeles Charts 5-3 Win Over Milwaukee
|
Milwaukee got a terrific performance from pitcher Keith Williams, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Blockbusters. Los Angeles won the Milwaukee Municipal Stadium contest, 5-3. Williams threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Basil Anderson nailed down the save. Los Angeles goes to 2-2.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Ian Cleary to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blockbusters on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Cleary. "You've got to get results."
