Packers Rally to Win
Packers center fielder Johnny Murray left his mark on his team's 5-4 win over the Washington Eagles. Murray, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1974 draft, went 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Cincinnati in the contest. Jerry Meek came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Jerry Pugh earned the save for Cincinnati, his 1st.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 13th, until Murray delivered big-time for Cincinnati, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Richie Kingery. The game-changing hit put the Packers on top, 5-4.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Murray told the Cincinnati Today.

The Packers raised their record to 13-17.
