Northmen Rally to Win
|
Thanks in large part to right fielder Carl Jacobs, the Twin Cities Northmen clipped the San Francisco Seagulls, 8-7, in 13 innings. Jacobs went 5 for 6 with a home run, 4 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The defeat makes San Francisco 19-12.
The Northmen got a clutch hit from pitcher Archie Makins. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Northmen.
"It was terrific getting this win," Makins said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
