Seagulls Rally Late to Clip Twin Cities
|
San Francisco beat Twin Cities on the strength of starting pitcher Pete Ragsdale's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Ragsdale got the win, improving to 4-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The save went to Dave Maughan, number 1 for him.
Had Bob Russell not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Russell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Seagulls.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim. "But we decided not to take it."
Twin Cities falls to 14-18.
