The St. Louis Explorers topped the New York Knickerbockers by a score of 4-3. Leading the way was left fielder Chuck Panetta. Panetta was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and a walk for the Explorers. St. Louis pitcher Willie Purter got the win, upping his record to 5-2. Dave Torre got the loss. The loss puts New York at 21-12.

Panetta had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth to put St. Louis in front, 3-1. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run off New York pitcher Dave Torre.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Panetta said in reaction to the win.
