The Seattle Emeralds faced a tough opponent in Houston pitcher Francisco Castro, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Puget Field by a final score of 3-2. Castro went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. Houston is 20-13 after the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Roberto Salazar in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off 33-year old right-handed pitcher Warner Manning to win the game for Seattle. The home crowd went nuts.

"Both teams played hard," said Seattle manager Mark Velez.
