Atlanta Beats Los Angeles, 2-1

The Atlanta Generals downed the Los Angeles Pobladores, 2-1, at Atlantic Station Field. Stellar pitching by Ron Cwiklinski had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Los Angeles now has a record of 12-22.
Atlanta took a 2-1 lead on Richie Lord's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Lord hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Los Angeles pitcher Bob Powell visibly frustrated.
"Tough loss," said Los Angeles manager Kurt Peterson. "This one will sting for a while."
