Dairymen Come Back Late to Top Knickerbockers, 4-2
|
The Milwaukee Dairymen called upon starter Jeff Munoz, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the New York Knickerbockers, 4-2. The 5th-place Dairymen improved to 14-19.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Cliff Bragg came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing New York pitcher Ollie Hundley, he hit a 1-0 cutter for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Milwaukee on top, 4-2.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley.
