Seagulls Win, 3-1, Versus Atlanta
|
San Francisco and Atlanta played a hard-fought contest.
In a low-scoring affair between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Atlanta Generals, pitcher Jerry Patrick was the difference between victory and defeat. The San Francisco right-hander earned kudos in the 3-1 Seagulls win. The Seagulls, at 22-12, lead by one game in their division.
John Cobb, who is tied for 9th in the ABL in doubles with 8, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cobb contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put San Francisco up, 2-1.
"Jerry mixed and matched," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.
