The New York Knickerbockers defeated the Milwaukee Dairymen, 4-2, in National Baseball League action at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. New York pitcher Dave Torre had a standout performance. New York leads the National Baseball League Eastern Division by 3 games.

The Knickerbockers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Ron Freeman. For the game, Freeman went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave New York a 4-2 lead.

Freeman called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
