Dairymen Suffer 5-0 Road Loss
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of New York fans at Knickerbocker Stadium.
The New York Knickerbockers beat the Milwaukee Dairymen by a score of 5-0. New York pitcher Chris Hull deserved the lion's share of the credit. Hull threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the Knickerbockers. The winning pitcher was Hull, now 5-0. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4.
New York right fielder Bob Underwood delivered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and knocked in 2.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Underwood after the game.
New York is now 19-15, while Milwaukee is 16-18.
