Terriers Lose to Northmen, 5-1
|
Boston got a valiant performance from pitcher Kim Glanden, but it wasn't enough to beat the Twin Cities Northmen. Twin Cities won the game, 5-1. Glanden threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Dave Church, the winning pitcher, is now 2-3. He went 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 4. Today's win puts Twin Cities at 15-18, while Boston falls to 15-18.
Twin Cities used the clutch hitting of Rick Giardina to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Northmen ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Giardina.
