The Twin Cities Northmen dealt the Boston Terriers a 5-3 loss at Atlantic Avenue Grounds. Pete Walker, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1971 draft, was the star on offense. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Picking up the win was Gerald Gross. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 1. The Northmen, now 18-16, have won 4 in a row.
Twin Cities grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Walker hit a run-scoring double off Ken Torkelson. His 6th double of the season put the Northmen out in front, 4-3.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
