Bulls Win Thriller, 1-0
|
Waldo Hardaway, who is tied for 4th in the NBL with a 1.71 ERA, never let the Industrials get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Bulls to a win, 1-0. Kansas City is now 17-18, while Pittsburgh is 19-15.
The decisive blow was delivered by Larry Moses in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 1972 Royal Ricketts Award winner Dennis Visco to win the game for Kansas City. The home crowd went nuts.
"Watch and learn," said Moses. "This is what good pitching looks like."
