Bobcats Roll to 8-3 Win Over Eagles
|
The Cleveland Bobcats picked up a win at Monument Field, knocking off the Washington Eagles, 8-3. Starting pitcher Roger Scherf was a big reason why. Scherf got the win, improving to 4-4. He gave up 9 hits and walked 4 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs. With the win, Cleveland pushed its record to 18-17.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Harold Batkin? The Cleveland first baseman had a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Bobcats on top, 7-3. For the game, Batkin had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Solid performance from our side," said Bobcats manager Daniel Mays.
