Hawks Lose at Home, 3-1
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Atlanta Generals and Chicago Hawks.
Starting pitcher Scott Dubyak gave the Atlanta Generals a rock-solid effort. The Oak Lawn, Illinois native helped his team defeat the Chicago Hawks, 3-1, at Hyde Park Stadium. The winning pitcher was Dubyak, now 5-2. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2.
Don Martinez had a direct impact on the outcome. Martinez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Atlanta up, 2-1.
"Scott kept his poise and got the job done," said Atlanta manager Philipe Yazzie. "He was outstanding."
The win lifted the Atlanta record to 20-15.
