Drillers Come Up Short at Baltimore, 4-3
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Baltimore Lords and Houston Drillers.
The Baltimore Lords picked up a win at Seton Hill Stadium, dropping the Houston Drillers, 4-3. Dan Valenti, who is tied for 4th in the ABL with a 1.62 ERA, was the difference-maker. Valenti picked up the win for Baltimore, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1.
Kansas City, Missouri-born Woodie Scheideler came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Lords trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Baltimore on top.
"Dan giving us the start that he did was huge," said Baltimore manager Steve Read.
The loss makes Houston 22-13.
