At Sam Houston Field, the Houston Drillers and Seattle Emeralds were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Seattle Emeralds starter Denny Goldberg pitched a strong game against the Houston Drillers at Sam Houston Field, leading the Emeralds to victory, 6-1. The win gives Seattle a season record of 17-17.

Seattle used the timely hitting of Don Boatwright to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Emeralds on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We did a lot of things right," said Boatwright.
