Northmen Win at Boston, 4-2
|
The Twin Cities Northmen picked up a win at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, knocking off the Boston Terriers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Edgar Trask was a big reason why. Trask, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Bob Cole was credited with the save for Twin Cities, his 6th of the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Carl Jacobs? The Twin Cities right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Northmen on top, 1-0. For the game, Jacobs had 1 double and 1 single in 2 at-bats.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Twin Cities skipper Jason Gudim.
The Northmen, at 19-16, have now won 5 straight.
