New York Gets 6-4 Win Against Hawks
|
The New York Empires picked up a win at Queens Field, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 6-4. Starting pitcher Larry Stanford played a key role in the triumph. The win elevated the Empires to 21-13.
John Robertson had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for New York. With the bases loaded and the Empires leading 4-3, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Nice win for us," said Stanford. "Now we'll go after the next one."
