Toronto Sent Home with 3-1 Loss
|
In a tight affair between the Montreal Habitants and the Toronto Hurons, pitcher Erv Koenig was in the zone. The Montreal left-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. Koenig, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up no walks. The Hurons, at 14-20, have lost 4 in a row.
Left Fielder Jerry Sullivan made an impact for Montreal, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Dave Hamilton in the bottom of the fourth. For the contest, Sullivan went 1 for 3 with a double.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon said.
