Quakers Score 3-1 Win Over St. Louis
In a low-scoring affair between the Philadelphia Quakers and the St. Louis Explorers, pitcher Bruce Owen was the difference between victory and defeat. The Philadelphia right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Quakers win. Darrell Klug got credit for the save for Philadelphia. It was his 4th of the year. The Quakers now have a record of 13-22 with the win over St. Louis.

Larry Allen, who is tied for 8th in the NBL in bases on balls with 18, had a direct impact on the outcome. Allen contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put Philadelphia up, 3-0.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Owen.
