Houston pitcher Syed Farooqi had a large part in his team beating the Seattle Emeralds, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Emeralds, at 14-21, have lost 4 straight games.

Wade Fields went 1 for 4 for Houston. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Mike Harris. It was his 25th hit of the season.
