Habitants Stumble, Lose to Drillers
|
The Houston Drillers racked up a win at Sam Houston Field, bumping off the Montreal Habitants, 11-3. Tom McAteer, who started for Houston, pitched effectively for his team. Randy Robins earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. After today's action, Houston sits at 17-18, while Montreal falls to 18-18.
In the bottom of the fourth, Houston catcher Charlie Fee had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Fee stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Houston. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
Said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon: "They just got the better of us."
