Bluebirds Win, 5-2, at Milwaukee
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds got a marvelous performance from pitcher Jorge Sandoval. The right-hander kept the Milwaukee offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 5-2 Brooklyn victory at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. In 7.2 innings, Sandoval surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. The losing streak for Milwaukee has now reached 4 games.
Bob Rawlins provided a timely hit. The Brooklyn third baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bluebirds on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"That was a really good outing by Jorge," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker.
