The Dallas Wranglers withstood a fine game by New York second baseman Lowell Bickle at Bluff Park, to upend the Empires, 5-4. Bickle was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The Empires, at 17-19, have lost 5 straight games.

The Wranglers got a clutch hit from shortstop John Darnell. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Wranglers.
