San Francisco Seagulls starter Pete Ragsdale found his groove in his team's 8-5 win over the Atlanta Generals. With this game in the books, San Francisco is 20-16, Atlanta 16-20.

Bob Russell had a big bases-clearing double for the Seagulls in the bottom of the third inning. With San Francisco leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ron Cwiklinski and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Seagulls ahead, 5-1.

"We maximized our offense today," said San Francisco skipper Al Borie. "That makes everyone's life easier."
