Ramon Juarez brought his A-game to help San Francisco defeat the Los Angeles Pobladores, 5-1. Juarez, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. With the loss, Los Angeles sinks to 2-2.

Jose Sosa dealt the Pobladores a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and San Francisco leading 2-1, Sosa, who finished 2nd in the ABL in triples with 15 in 1972, hit a first pitch changeup for a run-scoring single.

"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Juarez.
