Pobladores Capture Close Win
The Los Angeles Pobladores besoiled an otherwise fine performance by San Francisco catcher Jose Barroso by beating the Seagulls, 5-4, at Mission Field. Barroso went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the loss, San Francisco falls to 1-3.

Los Angeles used a timely hit from Roger McCoy to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pobladores ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said San Francisco manager Al Borie. "The effort was great."
