Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Detroit Wolverines take on the Los Angeles Pobladores.

Los Angeles third baseman Reggie Bush had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bush was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, even as Detroit beat the Pobladores, 9-7. Detroit has an impressive 25-11 record.

Detroit first baseman Troy Stallings contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 44th hit of the season and put the Wolverines ahead, 8-3.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Stallings told the Detroit Daily.
