Knickerbockers Lose at Home, 4-2, to Kansas City
|
Kansas City and New York duked it out and the Bulls came out victorious.
Kansas City Bulls pitcher Bernie Underwood whisked his team past the New York Knickerbockers, 4-2. Underwood, now 3-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 1, walking 5, and allowing 1 run.
The Bulls had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 4-2, Kansas City, with one out. New York, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Bob Underwood dug in at the plate, but on a 1-0 fastball, he lined out.
The second-place Bulls bumped their record to 20-17.
