San Francisco Seagulls starter Tim Stambaugh pitched well against the Twin Cities Northmen at Twin Cities Stadium, leading his team to a win, 4-3. Reggie Wright, now 3-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The Seagulls, now 26-12, have won 4 in a row.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Chuck Roberts was at the plate when San Francisco scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Seagulls to go in front, 4-3.

"Tim gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said San Francisco skipper Al Borie.
