The Seattle Emeralds faced a tenacious opponent in Baltimore pitcher Larry Diego, but still scratched out a win at Puget Field by a final score of 4-2 in 11 innings. Diego went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Reliever Fred Wild picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Billy Reed took the loss. Baltimore drops to 0-4.

Seattle got a knockout punch from Roberto Salazar. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"This place was electric at the end," Salazar said.
