Northmen Win at Home, 2-1

The Twin Cities Northmen earned a close win over the Dallas Wranglers, thanks in part to Syed Farooqi. The Twin Cities right-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Farooqi yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 6, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. Rick Lindstrom picked up the save for Twin Cities, his 2nd of the year.
The Northmen got a big at-bat from third baseman Chris Berman. For the game, Berman went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Twin Cities a 2-0 lead.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Dallas manager William Albrecht. "Obviously."
The loss makes Dallas 1-3.
