Brooklyn Defeated By Eagles, 6-3
|
Washington beat Brooklyn on the strength of starting pitcher Alex Fonseca's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Fonseca yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-7. Washington now has a record of 19-18 with the win.
Bob Raab had a big 2-run home run for the Eagles in the bottom of the third inning. With Washington leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a curveball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Dave Teckenbrock and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Eagles on top, 3-0.
"Alex gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Washington manager Brandon Tucker.
