John Befuddles Atlanta in 3-0 Toronto Win
|
The Atlanta Generals manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Toronto Hurons. The Generals were overpowered by Toronto starter Bill John, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Philipe Yazzie said.
Over 9 innings, John blanked Atlanta on 4 hits with 5 walks and 2 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," John said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
In 9 starts this season, John has fashioned a 4-3 record and a 3.90 ERA.
