The Denver Burros topped the Washington Eagles, 5-3, in National Baseball League action at Gates Crescent Park. The standout performance belonged to Denver pitcher and Denton, Texas, native Keith Williams. Denver now has a record of 26-12 with the win.
The Burros had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-3, Denver, with no one out. Washington, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Javy Ybarra dug in at the plate, but on a 0-1 sinker, he hit into a double play.
