Bluebirds Win with Late Heroics
|
Brooklyn Bluebirds starter Antonio Valerio pitched his team past the Washington Eagles, 1-0, in 11 innings. Brooklyn is now 21-18, Washington 14-24.
The Bluebirds got a clutch hit from shortstop George Fenton. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bluebirds.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Washington manager Brandon Tucker. "The effort was great."
