Empires Win, 2-0, at Baltimore
|
New York registered a win at Seton Hill Stadium by beating the Baltimore Lords, 2-0. Pitcher Larry Stanford was one reason why the Empires triumphed. New York now has a record of 23-16 with the win.
New York needed the clutch hitting of Al Castro to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Empires on top, 2-0. For the game, Castro had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Castro told a New York Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
